As the game is set long before any Cybertronian had ever met a Human, characters transform into futuristic, utilitarian vehicle modes instead of replications of Earth vehicles. I'm really interested to see what people end up making in the game so if anyone has the demo version please post your creations, robot and vehicle mode, please.Transformers: War for Cybertron is set millions of years in the past, during the civil war between the noble Autobots and the vile Decepticons, on the Transformer homeworld of Cybertron. In Fall of Cybertron if you're playing as a Decepticon you have Decepticon purple glowing faction insignias so no one can mistake you for an Autobot. All of the characters have glowing lights matching their faction insignia.

This is also good because it means that people won't have to mod the game to get an Autobot chassis on the Decepticon faction which causes confusion in the game when it's still sporting red Autobot faction symbols. So nothing is limited to one faction or the other. Still I'm very excited to customize my own robots.Īnother thing I noticed that's different is before you could only get Optimus Prime as an Autobot but it looks like in Fall of Cybertron he's also available as a Decepticon. I had this idea before but not like this mostly because I don't think any of the swapped out parts would actually function properly if you tried to do it with the toys.

Like they showed with Vortex it turns into a helicopter but the arms were swapped out so the place in vehicle mode where his arms would be looked different as well. The chassis actually determines what vehicle mode you go into but changing the arms and legs and stuff does seem to have some effect on that. Now with FoC it looks like they have a better color pallet and something I never thought they would do. The only problem I had was that the color pallets were very limited and especially with the Decepticon pallet all the colors look the same. With WfC all you could do was choose existing characters and recolor them which was fine I never imagined being able to do anything more than that. I just saw a video about the character creation for the multiplayer mode and it's about 100 times better than War for Cybertron.
